Recalls

A recall is a set of actions taken to recover a good (food and non-food) from the market in case of the discovery of some defects in it.

According to the Article No. (14) of Law No. (8) for the year 2008, on consumer protection, which stipulates that "the supplier shall, upon discovering a defect in the product or the service that may damage the consumer upon using the product or benefiting from the service, notify the competent authority in the ministry and the consumer, of the potential harm and the ways to prevent this harm, and to withdraw the defective product from the market immediately, with the keenness to announce it" ;

The recall does not always mean that the person should stop using the good or the product and return it to its source. Sometimes, it could mean that the good or the product needs to be examined, re-set, calibrated or repaired.
